WaterTower Theatre's two week, fun-filled Summer Conservatory will introduce you to kids who share your love of acting, singing and dancing!
At the Summer Performing Arts Conservatory, go beyond the traditional idea of a summer camp with a unique, non-competitive, nurturing program that caters to students who want to immerse themselves in all aspects of theatre arts.
Our classes, taught by highly skilled professionals, offer an intimate classroom setting - guaranteeing that each student receives the individual attention necessary to learn theatre skills as well as life skills - confidence, self-esteem and a love of creativity.
Classes for younger participants include acting, audition technique, dance, voice, and art.
Older children will explore techniques in scene study, playwriting, Shakespeare, improvisation, stage make-up, musical theatre, dance, costume design, voice, audition technique, and film.
Each session culminates in a Showcase Presentation for family and friends highlighting skills and techniques acquired during classes.

Terry Martin's Acting Class: The Meisner Technique |

WaterTower Theatre is proud to offer Acting: The Meisner Technique. The class will be taught by WTT Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin and is open to actors age 18 and over.
This 12 week program will meet from September 30 to December 16, 2008. Classes will be held each Tuesday from 10 AM until 1 PM in the Studio Theatre of the Addison Theatre Centre - 15650 Addison Road. The Fee for the class is $500 due on the first day of class. Class size is limited. An interview is required before admission to class. (Applying to be in the class does not guarantee enrollment). Click here for an applicaiton to the class.
Terry Martin trained under both Sanford Meisner and Meisner protégé Fred Kareman before relocating to Dallas in 1992. Previously, Martin worked extensively in New York and landed a recurring role on ABC's One Life to Live. Since moving to Dallas, Martin has become an award-winning actor and director. Martin received honors from the Dallas Theatre League (three time Leon Rabin award winner including Best Actor for The Only Thing Worse You Could Have Told Me and Best Director of a Play for Journey's End and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Dallas Observer (Best Theater Director - 2002), and the Dallas/Ft. Worth Theatre Critic's Forum. |

WaterTower Theatre offers innovative After-School Drama Programs as an important part of its educational programming. The programs offer a unique way for students to be introduced to theatre and learn important life skills. Programs can be tailored to meet the needs of a specific school and age range. After-school programs generally consist of ten 1 to 1 1/2 hour classes that meet once a week at the end of the school day on the participating school campus. Summer Intern Program |

Each summer, WaterTower offers a 10-week summer intern program enabling college students and early-career professionals to gain extensive experience working in a professional theatre. WTT is dedicated to engaging and employing a new generation of diverse theatre artists, administrators and leaders.
Summer Internships are 10 weeks during the months of June, July and August. Interns receive a stipend of $200 per week.
Summer 2008 applications received before April 1st will be given first consideration.

Student Rush Tickets |

Many students at the high school and college levels are required to see outside performances as a part of their curriculum. While it is not always possible for teachers to put together student groups, rush tickets are an affordable way for students to fulfill this requirement. Fifteen minutes prior to curtain, the best available seats are made available to students with valid ID for only $10. |

WTT Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin leads a class in the Meisner Technique for area actors. The Meisner Technique provides a step-by-step technical approach to the problems the actor faces in presenting the subtleties and delicate complexities of human emotional relationships and situations inherent in a playwright's text. The 12-week program meets once a week. Martin trained under both Sanford Meisner and Meisner protégé Fred Kareman before relocating to Dallas. A new session begins each fall. In today’s theatre market, a professional should possess both artistic and business administrative skills. WaterTower Theatre's intern programs provides young professionals with experience in the day-to-day operations of a Small Professional Theatre working under the auspices of the Actor’s Equity Association. At WTT, interns have the opportunity to develop their professional skills by working with WTT staff on a wide range of tasks and disciplines. Intern opportunities include Technology Internships Program (TIP) at RL Turner High School and Newman Smith High School, main stage production interns, administrative interns, performance/production interns in the Summer Performing Arts Conservatory, ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program and Texas Nonprofit Theatres.
